Smooth(ie) Days Ahead: My favorite smoothie recipe

Wednesday, July 30, 2014

Even though summer is winding down to its end, smoothies have become an all year round type of drink for me, so I thought I would share with you my all time favorite, go-to smoothie recipe.

You could use any kind of blender, but I prefer to use my magic bullet. It gives the perfect consistency, and also a perfect serving size.

What you'll need:
One banana (It's okay if it's a bit over-ripe)
Frozen berries
Juice of your choice (Orange based juices work best)
Ice

I will typically put in anywhere from 1/2 a cup to a full cup of berries, depending on the day.

As far as ice goes, I often can't fit a whole cup of ice in my blender, so a 2-3 pieces work for my magic bullet. If you're using an actual blender I would recommend about 4-5 pieces of ice

Dice up your bananas and add those in first, then do your ice, layer of berries, and do about a half a cup of the juice of your choice. Blend to a smooth consistency & enjoy!

Marley Lilly Monograms: My Favorite Pieces

Tuesday, July 22, 2014

It's no secret that I love monograms, and for the past year or so I have absolutely been loving one online store in particular. I have been coming to Marley Lilly for all of my monograms (my favorites being featured here) since around November of this past year and I have been nothing but satisfied with not only the products they sell, but also their customer service and unparalleled attention to detail. Below are some of my favorite purchases from their website.

The necklace photographed above is one of my favorite pieces to wear when I'm looking to make an nautical statement. It's not monogrammed, but I was drawn to this item for some reason. It's really a fabulous piece, and I've worn it several times this past summer, it's a must and pairs with monograms perfectly.

My most recent purchase from their online store has been this baseball cap, which I absolutely adore. My monogram's been done in the diamond layout, and I absolutely love the way this turned out.

These next few pictures are of my absolute favorite purchase ever. It's also my most worn, as it's been quite the summer go-to. It is the boyfriend printed pocket tank from their clothing line and let me just say-this is my favorite tank top ever. I went a size up because I like the oversize look, though you could certainly stay true to your standard tshirt size as it is an already oversized tee. Below are some other pictures, including a close-up on the pocket.

This last item is my croakie, or for those who don't know the term, my sunglass strap. Let me start by saying that I am OBSESSED with this thing. It is so cute, and the saying on the inside is so witty and I love it. I sometimes feel like a soccer mom when I wear it, but it's simply too cute to resist, plus, who likes having to hold onto their sunglasses anyways, am I right? Here's some other views:
